A few months ago I saw a sign in a family’s house that said,
“Love More.”
What a simple saying with such power. I loved it and decided to put it up above our table. At every meal we are reminded that love is what really makes the difference and if we have a problem, we probably need to love a little bit more, or be more conscious of the things we do love. It has really helped me individually when I want to be frustrated at a flying fork or piece of pasta shooting across the table at a “finally got it on the table dinner time”. When I Love More, I choose to laugh and handle the situation much more calmly, which I know my family appreciates it as much as I do. This month, our Family Challenge is to create a family motto!
Here is another motto idea from Michelle at Fun on a Dime: “We have a favorite family phrase around our house. It is…
I Can Do Hard Things!
This simple phrase does so much for our morale. Whenever my children start to get frustrated about something they are try to accomplish, I will ask them, “What does Mommy tell you?” And they will repeat, sometimes with some sass, “I can do hard things.” After a quick talk it does not take long before they have figured out a solution and are off to take care of it. I really love this phrase. It motivates us and reminds us that we can do it!”
So the Family Challenge for this week is…
The Challenge: Share (or Create) a Family Motto or Phrase
Do you have a favorite family phrase or quote you use? If so, we would love for you to share it with us. If you do not have one yet, create one! It can be short or long. Whatever works and motivates yourself or your family is your best option.
